You don't always need a big project. Sometimes a morning is enough.
4 hours of cyber security training for 50 people — and something really changed.
There's a widespread belief in the IT world:
that a consultant's value is measured in complex infrastructures, networks to redesign, cloud migrations to manage.
True. But not always.
Sometimes the value lies in four hours spent with 50 people, talking about cyber security in a clear, practical way and — above all — tailored to the people in front of you.
THE PROJECT
A company asked me to run an IT security course for the whole team: 50 people, different backgrounds, very different levels of technical skill. Not a standard textbook course, but something alive, with room for the real questions of people who work every day with computers, email and company data. Four hours, Q&A included.
No pointless slides, no technical jargon for its own sake.
WHAT I DID
I built the course starting from the real risks that particular company could face: phishing, password management, use of personal devices, everyday habits that seem harmless but aren't.
The most interesting part?
The questions. In a group of 50 people, every question reveals a habit, a fear, a misunderstanding that has dragged on for years.
Answering in a personal way — not with a generic textbook answer — is the difference between training that's forgotten the next day and training that leaves something behind.
WHY IT MATTERS
Cyber security almost always breaks because of a human error, not a technical one.
A €10,000 firewall won't protect you from a click on a phishing email. (but it certainly helps :-))
Training people isn't optional: it's infrastructure, just like a firewall or a backup system.
And sometimes, four hours are enough to change the way fifty people use technology every day.
This is IT consulting too.
Could you use it?
Let's talk about it over a..
