🇮🇹 IT

Ten years with the same law firm. Now a new website too.

For ten years I have been looking after BIPART, a Milan law firm specialising in intellectual property: art, trademarks and business. I take care of their computers and their IT security. When they decided to renew their online presence, the next step came naturally: building the new website together.

THE STARTING POINT

The firm was known mainly for art law. But BIPART’s work is much broader: trademark protection, business advice, copyright, design, patents, contracts and litigation.

The old website did not show this. People who came for art never discovered the rest. And the web address was not the easiest to say over the phone.

WHAT WE DID

We redesigned the website from scratch in WordPress, keeping the logo and the colour the firm’s clients already know.

The three main specialisations, Art, Trademarks and Business, each have their own colour. Visitors understand at once what the firm does and reach the area they need in a few clicks. Next to them, the other practice areas are always within reach.

We recovered and reorganised the existing texts and gathered the articles in a single blog, with a filter by area. There are two contact paths: one for general requests and one for trademark quotes. The site reads well on both computer and smartphone.

The firm updates texts, articles and lawyer profiles on its own, after a short training session at handover.

A NEW ADDRESS, EMAIL INCLUDED

Together with the website, the domain changed too: from bipartlaw.com to bipart.legal, easier to pronounce and to share by voice.

A domain change is not just about the website. Above all it is about email, which a law firm cannot afford to stop. I migrated every mailbox to the new address, staying with the same provider. The old web address automatically leads to the new one, so people who already knew BIPART do not get lost.

A THOUGHT

When you have looked after a firm for ten years, you know how it works, its people and what it cannot afford to lose. That is why website, email and computers went through the same hands: one point of contact, no bouncing between suppliers.
